BEST-STS: Testing safety related components

“Software in the Loop”, a method for testing and securing development processes for embedded systems is used to support development processes of safety related components of interlocking systems.

In particular, recurring processes can be simulated by STS. So a new version can be tested using the same criteria as the previous version. Thus, it can be demonstrated in detail whether an error has been corrected or not (re-testing).

STS reduces the need to use the real system for testing purposes as well as dramatically reduces on site testing time and system boundaries can be determined without jeopardizing the target system.
